It has just recently come to my attention that I haven't written anything in this for a while and it is dying to be written in. Even though I highly doubt there are many readers, I take comfort in the secrecy.
Where do I begin. I was watching a movie the other night, called "abandoned," and there was a guy in it that was talking to one of his friends and said, "Oh no. You're not one of those problem people are you? One of those people who always have a shiny new problem and say 'hey! look at my shiny new problem!'?"Who defines problem? There's always a problem. Big or small.
In light of recent situations in my family I thought I had "problem" figured out. To me, a problem was something that had enough impact on my emotional life to make me cry, and was also something that needed to be expressed to someone directly or indirectly and almost immediatly. Then I thought about how I react to "problem people." I simply...stay away. It makes me feel uncomfortable and almost a little on the offensive side. Immediatly I'd think to myself,"You think you've got a problem? Pfft...come live with me and then see what you think!" But doesn't everyone do this? I don't think there's a single person who could say they don't have one problem in their lives right now. "Problem"..is the product of a fallen human race.
One of my old youth pastors would always say "Christian friends are so important...they will help you make decisions in life and get you through all the hard stuff that comes your way." Speaking out of experience, not a single christian friend I've ever had has told me what I needed to hear. They told me what I wanted to hear. And they certainly didn't help me with what was coming my way. It hurts just to type that...but it is so true. Good christian friends of my age in my life has been very few, if not none. In fact, the only one who I can even consider a christian friend (or mentor), is my mom. Please don't misunderstand, I do have christian friends. But they do not know my family history or present circumstance simply because I don't wish to tell someone who can't be there often enough to hold me accountable.
So this then leads to loneliness, also known as an "abscence of prayer." God is the only one, not our friends and not our parents, who can see our hearts. Therefore, it is only logical that God is the only one that will comfort us and tell us what we need to hear at the same time. It is so wonderful that he is faithful in doing this too. He even promises it!

"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." - 1 Corinthians 10:13

The real problem is temptation. The temptation to feel lonely, the temptation of anger, bitterness, and all that comes with the "problem." But God promises to provide a way out, and I truly believe that it comes by prayer and practice of God's character.

Me and mom just had the biggest theological discussion I think we've ever had together lol. It was on angels and if they really appear to us today. My argument is that they don't, and hers is that they can. It all came about because we were out to lunch with this woman and her husband, Marsha and Dennis. Marsha claimed that she saw and touched an angel in the hospital that she worked at (If this was an angel that she saw, the angel was screaming obscenities down the hall).
Mom brought up Hebrews 13:2 where it talks about showing hospitality to strangers, it's referring to Genesis 18 and the story about the 3 messangers that happened to be angels. The only problem I have with it is that It's not talking about showing hospitality to angels now days, it's first of all, referring to a story in the old testament, and secondly, making clear that we are to show hospitality to everyone, whoever they may be.
Also, angels throughout the bible would make themselves known as messengers of God. In Luke 1:5-10 the angel Gabriel makes himself known as a messenger of God. Same with the angel Michael in either 1 kings 6 or 2 kings 6 (i cant remember exactly).
There's honestly somthing that bothers my concience about people saying that they've seen or touched an angel. Mostly because an angel's purpose is to be a messenger of God, and I don't think it would be any mystery to you if you were to see one! People were terrified when they saw angels and the angels literally had to tell them not to be afraid. But also, in the New Testament, there's no claims of having seen an angel as a person appear to them. They appeared in things like dreams and they were spirits.

My friend lesly moved away, so I've been keeping her in mind as far as prayers go. I've been reading evidence that demands a verdict and somthing I read in the introduction was, "it's not that people are unable to believe, it's that people are unwilling to believe" and I was just thinking that isn't it God who enables us to believe? So in a sense we are unable to believe until God enables us to believe. We naturally are unwilling to believe I thought, or maybe that's what he was getting at....somtimes I just wish I could read peoples minds heh.
