Me and mom just had the biggest theological discussion I think we've ever had together lol. It was on angels and if they really appear to us today. My argument is that they don't, and hers is that they can. It all came about because we were out to lunch with this woman and her husband, Marsha and Dennis. Marsha claimed that she saw and touched an angel in the hospital that she worked at (If this was an angel that she saw, the angel was screaming obscenities down the hall).
Mom brought up Hebrews 13:2 where it talks about showing hospitality to strangers, it's referring to Genesis 18 and the story about the 3 messangers that happened to be angels. The only problem I have with it is that It's not talking about showing hospitality to angels now days, it's first of all, referring to a story in the old testament, and secondly, making clear that we are to show hospitality to everyone, whoever they may be.
Also, angels throughout the bible would make themselves known as messengers of God. In Luke 1:5-10 the angel Gabriel makes himself known as a messenger of God. Same with the angel Michael in either 1 kings 6 or 2 kings 6 (i cant remember exactly).
There's honestly somthing that bothers my concience about people saying that they've seen or touched an angel. Mostly because an angel's purpose is to be a messenger of God, and I don't think it would be any mystery to you if you were to see one! People were terrified when they saw angels and the angels literally had to tell them not to be afraid. But also, in the New Testament, there's no claims of having seen an angel as a person appear to them. They appeared in things like dreams and they were spirits.
